Frequently Asked Questions
How to connect a IBAN to an accounting software?
Substitute IBAN numbers
What are substitute IBAN accounts?
Substitute IBAN addresses are used for financial services that do not use real IBAN addresses. One example is Stripe, which uses its own identification numbers to identify accounts rather than the actual IBAN accounts.
Example of a Stripe Account Identification Number: acct_1NneIyAaGRCmGhLP
To convert and import into accounting and other software, we need such a IBAN account: LU216828512820521784
Therefore, the DigiAce application needs substitute IBAN accounts to use for the conversion. For example, if you set up a substitute IBAN account for the Stripe account acct_1NneIyAaGRCmGhLP, this substitute IBAN account will then be added to the bank statement generated by DigiAce.
You then just need to add this substitute IBAN account to your accounting or other software where you will import these bank statements.
Without substitute IBAN accounts, imports into accounting software would not work, as the software does not accept any identifiers other than IBAN accounts.
What are the test TRR addresses?
Test IBAN addresses are the generated IBAN addresses used for testing. You can use these IBAN addresses if you have no other IBAN account available.
These IBAN addresses are not intended for actual payment use, as these IBAN accounts are not real, they are only intended for test use or as substitute IBAN accounts.
If you tick that you want to use a test IBAN account, a randomly generated IBAN account will be entered in the substitute IBAN account field. Then you just need to enter this generated IBAN account into your accounting software and you are ready to use it.
